Bisk Ventures Announces Investment in APL nextED

May 23, 2018

Tampa, FL – May 23, 2018 –Bisk Ventures, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has completed an investment in and partnership with APL nextED, the first comprehensive and fully integrated Academic Operations Platform for managing data, workflows, and reporting in academic operations.

APL nextED, founded in 2015, has developed a single, intuitive interface to provide users ease, efficiency and flexibility as they manage processes like credentialing, staffing, contracting, workload, evaluations, activity tracking, advancement, assessment, and professional development for faculty, administrators, and staff.

The platform integrates the data generated by these workflows with faculty/administrator/staff and course data to provide rich institutional insights for compliance, planning, performance and productivity.

These insights can be viewed and reported on as individual records or in thousands of aggregated reports that  can be downloaded, shared, or exported to other systems. Preconfigured accreditation compliance reports can be run with one click saving institutions an immense amount of time when preparing accreditation documentation.

Over 40 schools have traded manual processes, expensive point solution software, and non-integrated, multi-interface “platforms” for APL nextED.

Growing oversight by accreditors and the government, coupled with greater competition for students, rising costs and a focus on financial sustainability, means academic leaders need a  truly comprehensive, integrated and flexible academic operations platform now more than ever.

“Never before has there been a comprehensive digital solution to manage the operations of academic affairs in one place,” said George Straschnov, Managing Director of Bisk Ventures. “The work that Kathleen Gibson and the talented team at APL nextED are doing is critical. Simplifying time-consuming operational processes and centralizing data allows administrators and faculty to spend more time focusing on student learning and success.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Bisk Ventures,” said Founder and CEO Kathleen Gibson, who was a university professor, program chair and dean prior to founding the company.  “George has an insider’s understanding of the higher education market. He is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive and wise. With the support of Bisk Ventures, we expect that APL will be not only the first but the preeminent platform for managing academic operations.”
